BRONZE KEEPER

Bronze Keeper is extremely effective as a discoloration inhibitor for golden powder. It is useful for maintaining the metallic luster of a product with a golden finish.

Bronze Keeper is a combination of several effective ingredients, including benzotriazole, mixed efficiently to maximize its powerful oxidization- and discoloration-inhibiting properties. Bronze Keeper is available in various types―for water-soluble resins, binders, solvent-type paints, and printing inks―so as to meet diverse and exacting needs for binder performance and application.

Overview of Bronze Keeper

Outstanding Corrosion Prevention Effect
Adding Bronze Keeper prevents golden powder from discoloring, thus improving the durability of its beautiful metallic luster.

Oxidization Inhibition Effect
Prevents golden powder contained in a ready-made gold paint from oxidizing, and effectively improves re-dispersion and can-stability.

Stability of Golden Powder
Effectively controls discoloration in storage of products with a golden finish. Useful for maintaining the metallic luster of products in stock.

Loadings
Adding a small amount, about 1% to 1.5% of the total volume of a solution (binder), effectively inhibits discoloration.

A Variety of Types Available
Available in different types, for emulsion binders, solvent-type paints, and inks, so users can select one that exactly matches the binder performance requirements of a particular application.

Types and Application of Bronze Keeper

W-70
This type, designed for aqueous pastes and emulsions, is a pale-yellow liquid that is easily added to water-type solutions. Add the required amount, and stir well to mix before use. It is effective in preventing the golden powder from discoloring during and after a printing process or textile printing process. The recommended amount to be added is about 1% of the total volume of a ready-made binder. This yields the best results for suppressing discoloration of metallic luster .

S-70
Add the required amount of this type to such paints as acrylic resins and inks in which solvent-type binders and golden powder are mixed. Stir well to mix them before use. This product is very effective in preventing discoloration of a golden powder film on a finished product.
It also controls the oxidization of golden powder contained in ready-made golden powder paint, thereby maintaining the metallic luster and extending the can-stability.

ST-70
This type is used for oil solvent-type paints or golden ink. Add about 1% of ST-70 to a ready-made ink, and stir well to mix before use. This controls discoloration of golden powder, thereby helping keep the metallic luster. Add about 1.5% of ST-70 to special offset printing inks which contain more golden powder. It is effective for preventing ink in storage from oxidizing and also for controlling discoloration during printing and drying processes. This ensures a beautiful golden color finish. It can be used for surface treatment to prevent oxidation of copper powder, brass powder, or the like. For best results, add about 3% by weight of powder.

WS-70
This is a paste-type discoloration inhibitor suited for emulsion binders, alcohol-based paints and inks. When adding WS-70 to emulsions or the like, it is recommended to dissolve and dilute the required amount of WS-70 with two or three parts of ethylene glycol (EG, PEG) in advance for smoother addition.

How to add Bronze Keeper

Select the type of Bronze Keeper best suited to the binder, paint or ink whose viscosity has been adjusted. Measure and add the required amount of the Bronze Keeper to the binder, paint or ink, stir them well for mixing, then mix in golden powder.

There are several ways to produce golden luster or a metallic look for decorative effect by using golden powder or copper powder: applying by brushing, spraying, roll coating, gravure printing, screen printing, sprinkling, and dipping. Bronze Keeper is also recommended for applications such as kneading into PVC film.

Precaution

Be sure to completely use all prepared binder or paint with golden powder mixed in each time these are prepared. Please carry out tests or experiments on your own to determine the type and amount that are best suited to your particular binder.
